We’re hiring – Two Doctoral Fellowships in Climate Litigation
10 June 2026
CLIMPACT is funding two doctoral fellowships within the PhD programme in Law, Economies and Cultures of the Mediterranean at the University of Bari (XLII cycle), co-funded by the University.
• Judicial Cross-Fertilization in Climate Litigation — patterns, mechanisms, and transformations in the transnational circulation of climate case law.
• Compliance, Resistance and Normative Change — enforcing climate judgments in comparative perspective.
The fellowships draw on our FIS 3 Starting Grant (MUR — Italian Ministry of Universities and Research), with the University of Bari contributing substantial co-funding in support of the project’s doctoral training. Each fellowship includes funding for research periods abroad plus an annual research budget for fieldwork, conferences, and related expenses. Both projects sit within CLIMPACT’s work on the legal, judicial, and policy impacts of climate litigation, and the doctoral fellows will join an interdisciplinary team of legal scholars and social scientists. Deadline: July 9. Interviews will be held on July 22.
