We’re hiring – Two Postdoctoral Researchers in Comparative Law

8 June 2026

CLIMPACT is recruiting two postdoctoral researchers in comparative law to analyse how climate litigation reshapes legal frameworks, judicial reasoning, and public policy across legal systems.

These are 24-month (renewable) fixed-term research positions based at the Jonic Department, University of Bari, funded through our FIS 3 Starting Grant (MUR — Italian Ministry of Universities and Research).

The selected researchers will work on the legal, judicial, and policy impacts of climate litigation (impact area α), conducting systematic analysis of court records, legislative and regulatory responses, and administrative decisions, and tracing the connections between judicial outcomes and subsequent normative and policy developments. They will contribute to building the project’s standardised case- and cluster-level impact assessment tools, take part in the process tracing phase, and join the wider interdisciplinary team of legal scholars and social scientists.

Deadline: 23 June 2026
